Things needed to make a pallet table
- 4 pallets & one 4×4’s to make legs
- 2-inch deck screws
- Paint or Polish
- Jigsaw
- Hammer
- Measuring Tape
- Circular Saw
- Flat Pry Bar
- Miter Saw
- Measuring Tape
- Pencil
- 1 3/8″ Forstner Bit
- Ruler
- Drill and Drill Bits
- Flat Pry Bar
Step-1 Select the pallets
Choose the pallets that will be used for making the legs. Remember not to use a harmful chemical affected pallet for legs. For the tabletop use the lengths that are equal in thickness and size.
Step-2 Separate the Pallets
With the help of a flat pry, break up the deck board from the 4×4′ runners. Find the four longest and thickest bottom deck boards that will be used to make the table frame.
To make the tabletop find the regular top deck boards. You can use the circular saw to cut the deck boards near the outside runners. To separate the deck board from the center runner, use a flat pray.
Step-3 Make the Table Frame
Make the frame of the table, and make sure it is in a square shape. For this, I cut the two boards with 44 inches and the remaining two with 42 inches in length. Put the shorter board inside and make the frame. Secure the frame with the help of two screws on all the corners.
Step-4 Add the legs
After making the table frame, cut all the legs in equal sizes. My measurement was 29 inches for the legs. Now add the legs on all four corners and screwed them.
Step-5 Give support to the table frame
Before making the tabletop, I added extra support inside the frame. I have done this for two reasons. The first was for stability, and the second one was to give extra support to the tabletop.
Step-6 Make the tabletop
Now for making the tabletop put together all the deck boards. Place all the boards on the top one by one, and drill two screws on each board. I attached them in such a way that all the boards were 1-inch overhang from one side. Now, for the other uneven side, measure the 1-inch from the frame, made a line, and with a circular saw cut the ends.
Step-7 Make the table smooth and clean
Now you need to make the surface of the table smooth. I used a palm sander for this. Make it 100% sure that all the edges and the tabletop is smooth enough.
