To survive at night in a camp while you are at outdoors, lighting is essential .It enables you to see as well as keep harmful animals away from you. Additionally, it provide you heat and hope to overcome your fear. Lantern is a portable source of lighting, typically featuring a protective enclosure for the light source — historically usually a candle or a wick in oil, and often a battery-powered light in modern times — to make it easier to carry and hang up. Here, I am sharing some ideas to make DIY lantern quickly at outdoors.
1-Glass jar Kerosene oil lamp
Supplies:
1- One glass jar with lid
2-cotton wick (length as per height of jar)
3- Kerosene oil (100ml)
4- Bike rim wire stud
Working tools: Hammer ,steel nail
How to make: Make a hole at the center of lid as per size of bike rim wire stud. Insert bike rim wire stud into lid as shown in image .Insert cotton wick into bike rim wire stud to drop its lower part in the kerosene oil. Pour kerosene oil in jar and give fire to wick when it is wetted with oil.
(You may use mustered oil as alternate of kerosene oil for this idea)
2-Utilize Vintage kerosene oil Lantern
You may see vintage kerosene oil lantern laying at you yard. Pick it, clean it and remove its rust thoroughly. Change its wick and after filling kerosene oil in its tank your camp lantern is ready for use.It provide clear light even for reading and writing.

3- Methylated spirits (Alcohol) Lamp
Supplies:
1- One glass jar with lid
2-cotton wick (length as per height of jar)
3- Methylated spirits (100ml)
4- Bike rim wire stud
How to make: Make a hole at the center of lid as per size of bike rim wire stud. Insert bike rim wire stud into lid as shown in image .Insert cotton wick into bike rim wire stud to drop its lower part in the alcohol. Pour alcohol in jar and give fire to wick when it is wetted with oil.
4-Candles
Keep with you some candles, they are ready-made solution for indoor lighting.

5-Open mustered oil lamp
To make a mustered oil lamp by yourself is very easy.
Supplies:
1- One tea cup (or a earthen lamp pot)
2-cotton wick (length as per height of cup)
3- Mustered oil (100 ml)
How to make: Pour mustered oil in cup to half of its height, drop cotton wick into oil and when wick absorbed oil, give fire to upper side of wick.
